Typically, these are the steps that are taken toward creating a piece:
1. The initial idea:
We would meet in-person or over the phone to discuss the project.
2. Defining the project:
The next step is to narrow down the story we'd like to tell. This can take many forms from an interview to brainstorming sessions.
3. Choosing the form:
The nature of the content and the spirit of the subject will drive the form, unless you have specific ideas about the space in which it will ultimately reside “something to fill this wall” or “something to go on my bed.” In all cases, we will discuss possible materials and visual directions. Once the form has been chosen, a price estimate will be made.
4. Gathering the content:
We will create a To–Do list in order to assemble the content items. This means gathering contact information for friends and family and soliciting material from other people and sources.
5. Testing the materials and concept:
While you are gathering the content, Waltuch will test the materials and investigate the timing for execution.
6. Determining a timeline:
We then establish a timeline based on the form and purpose of the piece. If the project is being created for an event with a specific date (such as a birthday celebration), we would determine what is possible based on the time period leading up to that event.
7. Setting the final pricing:
Once the above is determined we can identify the final pricing. See “Pricing”.
8. Execution:
Waltuch creates a mock-up for your approval and then begins building the piece.
9. Delivery:
The final piece is delivered.
